Credentials: Associate’s Degree is required. Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred; one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Payroll experience is a plus

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Bookkeeper is to provide bookkeeping and accounting support to the Finance Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Keeps records of financial transactions for organization, using calculator and computer.
- Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts.
- Prepares annual budgets and reconciles actual expenses to budget monthly.
- Prepares and distributes monthly invoices to funding sources.
- Enters monthly cash receipts, journal entries, and accounts payables in accounting software system.
- Answers all vendor inquiries.
- Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted.
- Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
- Reconciles and balances accounts.
- Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger.
- Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by the Chief Finance Officer and/or Executive Director.
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Filing documents such as: accounts payable, journal entries, deposits, accounts receivable, etc.
- Document Image Scanning. Assisting Finance Officer with incoming/outgoing mail.

- Ability to do basic business and accounting related mathematical procedures.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Kentucky Driver’s License. Required to attain all training and certifications as required by Finance Officer, LKLP Executive Director, LKLP Board of Directors and federal and state government funding sources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily in an office setting.
